The inspiration

Calm among the chaos of everyday. In Kyoto, once the capital of Imperial Japan, you stumble upon peaceful havens in secluded Zen gardens, Buddhist temples and a tranquil spa. Your soul feels replenished in a place that’s surrounded by rich, natural beauty. A moment of peace as the world stands still.

The notes

Amber is an accord that creates a warm, powdery-sweet scent that’s deeply comforting. Oud is one of the most expensive raw ingredients, earning its ‘liquid gold’ moniker. It smells deep, rich and sensual, with a bittersweet woodiness, and is also used in the Japanese Kodo incense ceremony to deepen the spiritual sensory awareness. Olibanum is frankincense – another prized note. Made from tree resin and once so sought after it was only used by royalty. The smell is soft and sweet with a hint of citrus, and is thought to soothe anxiety.
