DUVETS AND PILLOWS CARE GUIDE

Caring for your duvet or pillows

Thanks to their exceptional high quality, our products all come with a five- or ten-year guarantee. Follow our care recommendations, to make sure they stay in the best possible condition.

How to air

• We recommend airing duvets and pillows regularly. Open bedroom windows in the morning and shake bedding down slightly, so absorbed moisture can evaporate, letting the fibres breathe before covering with a bed cover.

• Never vacuum, or beat them, as this can damage the product.

How to wash

• We recommend washing pillows, duvets and protectors every six months and using pillow and mattress protectors to extend their lives and protect from stains.

• We have developed our ranges to be suitable for domestic machine washing (except for our silk collection). However, for the best possible results and durability, we recommend professional laundering.

• If you would like to wash at home, check your machine capacity. Usually one duvet, or two pillows, will fit in a large-capacity machine.

How to dry

• Drying is very important to protect both natural and synthetic fillings – it must be totally dry, so it is not damaged

• Depending on your tumble dryer’s drum size, it may take up to four, or five, hours to dry thoroughly.

Material matters

Different fillings have different care requirements and individual care labels will give you the best instructions if in doubt…

Feather and down fillings

Use a non-biological detergent to protect the down and wash as per the care label – usually 60°C on a gentle, hot-wash cycle – which is the temperature that will kill dust mites. Spin at the lowest setting.

Synthetic fillings

Use a non-biological detergent to protect the fibres and wash as per the care label. Tumble dry on a low heat – removing to shake a few times to redistribute the filling. You can add dryer balls, or a clean tennis ball to help prevent lumps.

Silk

The natural fibre is very fine and smooth, therefore a small amount of filling migration is unavoidable. Try not to catch, or pull, any loose fibres. For the best possible results, do not wash in a domestic washing machine. We recommend professional wet laundering.

We rigorously trial our duvets and pillows to check the quality, purity of filling material, performance and durability as well as conducting wash tests to ensure they stay light and fluffy over time – all to give you the very best.
