BUYING GUIDE

Bed Linen Buying Guide

Bed Linen Buying Guide

Our story began with bed linen nearly 30 years ago and, during this time, we've traveled far and wide to find the finest yarns and work with the most skilled artisans. We truly believe premium bed linen is worth every penny, as it has the power to transform the quality of your sleep – and look and feel fabulous, too.

How Do You Like Your Bed Linen To Feel?

Whether you like crisp and cool, or cozy and warm, it’s worth investing in high-quality bed linen, because it really does affect the way we sleep. That’s why we only pick the finest cotton, linen, silk and cashmere to craft ours. We spin these long-staple, natural fibers into supremely smooth, strong and soft yarns. When woven together, the resulting cloth feels beautifully breathable, cool and comfortable to sleep beneath. If you’re not sure which fabric you’d like best, follow our guide below.

Cool and crisp

Cotton percale is one of the most popular fabrics as it combines softness and strength, woven tightly to produce a firm, smooth fabric.

Smooth and silky

Cotton sateen has a smoother, more delicate finish that boasts a silky feel and a slight sheen, which drapes beautifully on the bed.

Exquisitely soft with a beautiful drape, cotton silk has an understated matte-sheen finish and temperature-regulating benefits.

Cosy and soft

A super-soft cotton that’s woven and brushed into a snuggly flannel fabric, perfect for sleeping beneath on colder nights.

Care tip

To keep flannel bedding looking its best, we always recommend to wash the items alone in the washing machine, without mixing with other items of clothing so they have space, therefore avoiding friction between each item and reducing the risk of pilling on the fabric surface. Once removed from washing machines, do not twist the bedding too much to eliminate excess moisture as it may deform the pieces. If using a tumble drying to dry, it must be at a low temperature, thus prolonging the life of flannel sheets.

Warm in winter and cool in summer

Linen cleverly helps to keep you warm in Winter and cool in Summer. Made from fibres of the flax plant it has a wonderfully relaxed feel.

They are applied on three sides of the comforter cover, four sides of the pillowcase and along the top cuff of the flat sheet, which is on display when folded down on a dressed bed. We leave the top end of the comforter covers unembellished to provide ultimate comfort next to skin and to give you the full feel of the exquisite fabric for the best night’s sleep.
